We offer a range of services designed to treat the whole body, and not just the source of pain.
Also known as the “Chiropractic Adjustment,” this therapy focuses on specific movements to restore function and motion to a joint that has become restricted. Joints often become restricted due to poor posture, improper bio-mechanics, and/or injury. Once a joint is freed from restriction, the process of imbibition begins to restore the health of the joint. In fact, imbibition is the only way that many joints can get the oxygen and nutrients they need to stay healthy! Following chiropractic manipulative therapy, the muscles, tendons, and skin around the joint also begin to release and relax.
Disc Bulge/herniation Therapy
A bulging or herniated disc can appear very differently from patient to patient. Some may feel neck or back aches with radiating pain or numbness that extends into your limbs. When the disc gets repetitive strain in a certain direction, such as when you slump in your chair or lift things with poor posture, the disc can begin to degenerate and squeeze the gel toward the sensitive spinal nerves. These discs can be repaired and restored without surgery or disability if they are diagnosed in time. We combine the most effective disc therapies to give you the best chance at a full recovery. We pair this treatment with functional rehabilitation to help restore the normal movement of your spine and prevent any future disc injuries.
Acupuncture is a major component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has existed for more than 4,000 years. It involves the stimulation of highly specific points on the body to facilitate movement of blood and energy. In Chinese medicine, it is used to balance Yin and Yang energies and facilitate their flow. We use acupuncture to treat a variety of other illnesses and health conditions such as headaches, stress/anxiety, sleep issues, digestive issues, fertility and more.
Overall wellness is highly related to gut health. Most of our immune system lies within our gut, and what we put into our body can tremendously influence our health and the way we feel. Nutritional therapy examines the way we obtain our required nutrients and looks for issues in intake, digestion, absorption, and excretion.
At Primal Chiropractic we don’t focus solely on the site of pain. Instead, we perform a comprehensive evaluation of how all parts of your body interact with one another. Only then can we determine the cause of the functional deficits, or pain. Our Functional Rehabilitation treatment includes a variety of corrective and performance exercises with one goal: to improve your everyday movement.
When a particular muscle is not doing its job correctly, we call that inhibition. Other parts of the body begin to pick up the slack for the inhibited muscle, which over stresses those other areas. This condition is called altered motor control. It can result from many factors, including frequent sitting, sedentary lifestyle, poor postural habits and previous injury. The undue tension put on over-stressed muscles often leads to pain and injury. We design corrective exercises to curb altered motor control by stimulating the inhibited muscle(s) in functional, efficient patterns used in sports and everyday activities. Essentially, we work with patients to increase their performance while decreasing their risk for injury.
